Nominator's project description
| Professor Zumbrun is well known internationally for his outstanding research on nonlinear evolutionary partial differential equations. He has made important contributions to the stability theory of nonlinear waves such as shock waves and water waves. During his stay in Germany, he intends to extend his stability theory to systems of conservation, and study shock profiles in moment systems of extended thermodynamics. |
